NBN Co. fibre optic wins feather banners vote.

This blog is dedicated to NBN Co and the Willunga trial, one of the five first NBN release areas in Australia.

OzFeathers jumped at the chance to be included in the initial trial through Internode, and BOY! are we impressed!

Explosion of colour - NBN Co fibre optic WINS!

Before NBN and the fibre optic cabling, our internet was slow.  OzFeathers customers couldn’t view their feather banner designs because files were often too large to email.

Sketched requests for flag & banner designs had to be FAXed in, because our Inbox might have exploded!

Thailand to Australia to Korea - colour in an instant!

But, no longer!

OzFeathers have been designing and crafting street marketing banners & flags in Willunga since 1998, all without a bricks & mortar shopfront.

“The internet has definitely opened up the geographical scope of interest for our banners” said Linda Sanders, Creative Designer.

“Where we once spoke only with local and intrastate customers, we now have a wide circle of global links, using Facebook and LinkedIn.  This interest in a wider customer base has definitely blossomed since our NBN Co. connectivity.”

CONCLUSION – Could it be that Internet and Social Media connections will become THE way of shopping in the future, rather than currently as a diversionary option?

Would NEMO recognise his Tropical Fish friends?

Could these feather banners be advertising Australia’s Great Barrier Reef?

Or, a local tropical fish pet shop perhaps?

Over the Adelaide Cup Day long weekend we decided to spend time at Moana Beach, SA.

Beach Flags with Nemo

— Why not set up our own FREE Art Display?? —

Moana Beach suddenly became an al-fresco Art Gallery and our Coral Reef feather banners (a 7-piece fish & coral mural) became beach flags for a day.

CONCLUSION: A clear message to pet-shop owners and tropical holiday destinations.  These fishy display banners are exceptionally eco-friendly advertising – No tank-cleaning required!

Classic Cars, Dragon Boating & Kimba and their Feather Banners

Here’s an open invitation to come to McLaren Vale Vintage & Classic‘s special event on Sunday 29 April 2012.  You’ll find them easy enough, just look for the bold, big and colourful 5 metre flag / feather banners.  Bright DOES attract attention!

Sporting events

Want crowds? - try an Explosion of Colour!

Another group who asked us about flags for their Sporting Club was the Adelaide Sea Dragons.

Their splashy feather banners not only shout, “We’re competing!” but the BIGGER size instils fear in the hearts of their opponents.

*** A sporting psychological advantage?  You bet! ***

When Adelaide Sea Dragons first contacted us in 2006 they were one group. There are now divisions in Adelaide, Ceduna and Streaky Bay.  South Australian Dragon Boat Racing has even paddled internationally.  Well done everyone!

We’re not big horse racing fans at OzFeathers, but when Kimba Racing Club asked us to design banners for their special meetings, we said “yes we can” immediately.

Kimba’s Christmas Tree Committee originally commissioned us in 2010 to create a set of Christmas-themed feather banners.  The local Racing Club called early in 2011, wanting their own stunning designs.

*** Could Kimba now be the brightest rural township in South Australia? ***

CONCLUSION – Spectators to an event will always look for the biggest or brightest landmark.   That probably explains why Sporting clubs (football, soccer, netball, vintage & motor enthusiasts) and Community clubs are huge FANS of feather banners.  Are you?
